I would love for you to all vote for me, and maybe even mention it on your blogs later in the week when voting opens? maybe?? at the end of the week *blush* I am a bit shy about asking.... The winner wins a Rainbow of Stitches book and ( big deep breath) EVERY colour of DMC floss- 454 colours!! The thought makes me hypervetilate!!! Thanks to everyone who has already emailed me and is excited for me. Makes me get all teary... mwah!
Right on with my creative space now:
Success!!! With the zipper! After looking at several million tutorilas - some of them so confusing I finally found one that I understood. It was at sew mama sew and it was installing a zipper in a skirt. I followed the directions with one change- rather than flip it over and sew the zipper on the nice side of the fabric I sewed it on the zipper side so I could see how close I was to the teeth. What I like about this was that you sewed a seam , wacked the zip in the back and then flipped it over and unpicked part of the seam so the zip could open.... when I realised that is all I had to do ... well I feel like a bit of a goose for not getting it sooner....
So here is the front:
lovely farm fabric was a gift from Flossy-p last year... and some red corduroy scraps
and this is the back:
I am pretty happy with it, is there a merit badge for zipper installation??...( Leonie feel free to enlarge this picture x)
Lounge room makeover is well on its way:

( and thanks again Kirsty for choosing me as the Red finalist- it means so much to me that such an accomplished embroiderer thinks my work is worthy of winning ) ( Jeez, am I having an Oscars moment or what???)
