Some ideas about cogs and screens and buttons and screws... decided I would make them out of felt as I just ordered a whole heap of wool felt with the idea of making gnomes for Busy's preschool but was severely intimidated by the neatness of Tania's blanket stitch, however I thought I would give it a crack. I remembered how much I love working with this beautiful wool felt. And thanks to a post a million years ago from Sally about invisible thread! Who knew!? Well I didn't and new it would come in handy one day and it was perfect for sewing all the knobs and buttons onto this. Thanks Sally.
So Vic, I am holding my breath and hoping this is what you meant... here is your choice of robots...the green one was the first one but then I got on a roll and kept going... .
And to everyone else....should I keep making them? Should I put them on etsy? Critique please...( be kind I am fragile)
What a clever cookie you are, their gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteRight, I was just looking at your post and Pony Girl walks in, sees your robots and says, "Holy Guacamole! Those robots are totally cool!" Then she wandered off doing her best robot impression. These are wicked awesome! Seems the world loves a robot and we are no exception, we are mad for robots these days and I am completely smitten with your new rattles. Yes, make them, yes, sell them!
ReplyDeleteThey are super cute! Love them all. It will be a tough decision to make for Vic just to pick one! Keep making them for sure!
ReplyDelete:)
They are cool! Love the colour combos. Could you make square shaped ones too? Or is the rounded shape easier?
ReplyDeleteI think they rock! ;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! Wish they'd been available when my boys were little bubbas. Well-done!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute! I say sell them up, for sure
ReplyDeleteEEEK!!!! Oh Cath they are AWESOME... how AM I supposed to choose just one...?! Right now I love the blue one - his eyes make him look like 'superbot' lol, and that meter thingy is ace, but I just asked Punk's opintion & she likes the red one (She said 'muno!' lol) ...maybe I need two....
ReplyDeleteYou rock lovely! Will email you! xoxoxox
These are amazing - I love the detail, so cool! You are a clever cookie.
ReplyDeleteThose are too cool for words! I am sure they would go down really well on Etsy. You might have to be a little careful with little bits of felt escaping into baby's mouths and being a choking hazard. Would you be able to do a screenprinted version perhaps? They are just adorable!!
ReplyDeleteTypical funny Chunky Chooky style -I love them!
ReplyDeleteThey are all completely crackin'!
YES...you SHOULD put them on Etsy!!!
I love your quirky style, Cath.
xo
For schizzle you should put them on etsy! Your robots rock!!!
ReplyDeleteLove them !!!
ReplyDeletejust fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThey're super fabulous Cath! You are a robot genius.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Awesome...I love them..You should definitely add them to your store...Red is my fave!
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous! I'm in love with the green one, but I suspect he'll be snapped up before I reach 12 weeks (no baby shopping before then for fear of jinxing).
ReplyDeleteAlso, do you plan to make another pig brooch? Your giveaway coincided with Blogger refusing to publish my comments.
That is AWESOME! You are so talented :) You should definitely make more!
ReplyDeletesuper fabulous awesome!
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous, I'd absolutely buy one! I'd never dare give it to a slobbery baby though. :-)
ReplyDeleteYep! They're awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love their buttons & gauges.
Yes! Make them! They are clearly totally awesome! Hmmm, I need to have more babies so I can buy them these rattles! xx
ReplyDeleteYes and yes...they are awesome!! I love them. The one in the middle kind of looks like a super hero robot with his mask on. Just gorgeous Cath!! xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome little robots :)
ReplyDeleteI didn’t read all of the comments, but I absolutely sure they all agree with me…..YOU MUST KEEP MAKING THE ROBOTS. They are sensational! How could you be fragile about these, just one look should tell you that you are on a winner here.
ReplyDeleteOh...they are freaking BRILLIANT woman!!!! I think we need to understand that your brain is just wired for rattles!!!
ReplyDeleteThe thought did cross my mind that they look like an awful lot of work, which is lost on the babies they are intended for. They give parents more satisfaction! Its probably more time effective to stick to the simpler designs, do you understand what I am saying? That said, being a parent, I absolutely adore them! :)
ReplyDeleteCath! They are just about the best rattles I have ever seen and can ever imagine seeing. You astound me. They are brilliant! Love your friend Kate X (ha!)
ReplyDeleteOH My god Missy what were you stressing about! They are magnificent! I adore them all, but old greeny he is my fave. xo
ReplyDeleteLoving the robot rattles - I think you already have your answer, but.... I agree put them on etsy!
ReplyDeleteI think they're all great!
ReplyDeleteput them on etsy!! i want i want!!
ReplyDeleteOh I almost voluntarily ovulated when I saw them. I wish there were some bambinos around in my life. these have to be my very favourite of your rattles Cath.
