gwamma is here and we saw an echidna!

Grandma is here and everyone is excited. Zac talks to her he is so excited to see her - he makes weird noises  and hangs under her feet- wouldn't have anything to do with the almost hourly treats she gives him.
Busy wanted to show how much her hair had grown-  first pigtails! so cute!!

We went for a long drive up the mountain to this beautiful lookout
Then we drove through the forest and look at this tiny little , yet perfectly formed echida we saw waddling up the road.
I don't know who was more excited me or Busy... it was so tame and so little and so cute

see its quills up close... so amazing ( the two grey spots are just grass ticks)

 nature is so clever.

  1. sounds like a great time for every one! Love those echidna photos - we have a favourite plastic toy echidna who I'm sure will like to "see" them later...

  2. We get alot of echidnas out here. We recently had one stay for a "sleepover" after H rescued it. The poor thing was hit by a car :( He was a big boy and he kept me up all night with his escapades! He was picked up in the morning by one of the local animal carers and was released soon after. I love echidnas, especially how they waddle along! x

  3. You know, don't you, with a find as AMAZING as that, I would be fighting the temptation to borrow the sweet critter and photograph him on a lightbox...

    (I am mostly joking).

    PS. Gwammas rule.
