I reckon he is pretty darn cute!
The response to the sew your own softie kits, Rafferty and Regina, from my current wholesalers has been huge and very encouraging. Everyone who sees them loves them and since I have been working on them for about 5 months it is great to see them in the flesh. I have taken new photos and am much happier with how they look now.
As well as the instructions you also get a little card so you can personalise each softie - this was feedback from Kate and her girls who were my official pattern testers.
I have also changed the packaging and am much happier with it.
The perfect present for young sewers- all wrapped up and ready to go straight under the tree!
I have been thinking a lot about packaging... what will be kind to the earth yet stop things getting dirty from grubby handprints in shops... I did want to just have the fabric of the rabbits and the instructions just all held together with a nice wooden dolly peg but everyone kept telling me they would be ruined in the shop. I have provided two made up Rabbits for each wholesaler for display purposes. The other packaging just didn't look nice enough for retail, so this is the new improved packaging, plsu who doesn't love that red and white bakers twine!!

Cath, the softie rabbits are gorgeous...contact the 'craft hive' in Hobart, I reckon they would be interested.
ReplyDeleteCath, I was going to email you today!
ReplyDeleteMy girls adore them. They sleep with them, Jazzy takes her's to school, Indi has so much confidence on her sewing machine since her softie success and they often bribe Pepper with them...if you do this then you can play with Rafferty...They are a hit!
You are so clever. They are the best gift. XX
Damn Curtis is CUTE! I can't wait to see our bot! (...but I really should... shall have to repeat, & continue to repeat "..it's for Christmas. It's for Christmas....") hehe.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. What a lovely idea for a child's gift. What a shame that my boys are too old now and I didn't have girls. I hear you about packaging. I have been tryng to think of something too that is environmentally friendly.
