Perhaps if we all together think really strong about making Tropical Cyclone Yasi turn around and head back out to the middle of the Ocean away from ANYONE it will? How scary for anyone in Cairns and surrounds. It is due to hit at midnight tonight. I am so worried for them. We are all holding our beath for you. Haven't we had enough bad weather here? Poor QLD!
Everyone say out loud and with strong conviction: YASI YASI GO AWAY
I saw a satelite photo of the cyclone in the paper this morning. It is HUGE!! :O We have had it bad here in Chch with the quakes, but a cyclone?! I think I'd prefer the quakes (twitch).
ReplyDeleteLove reding you blog Cath. You always have something interesting to read about. Thankyou.
Mum is up there on her own in the middle of it and I am not happy! Her plan is to hide in the downstairs bathroom, not much of a plan. Reckons she can't drive far enough away - because she spent so long deciding what to do! Sorry concerned and cross - all for the go away screaming!
ReplyDeleteIt's so frightening. Fingers crossed it makes the turn.
ReplyDeleteI have a very dear friend up there and will be chanting Yasi Yasi go away. It is way too frightening.
ReplyDeleteIt is just looking like it is going to be a terrible, terrible situation. I felt for Anna Bligh on news this morning, she looked 'battle weary' today.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to give anything a go. Mother Nature, please give us a break :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up, Cath... I must watch the news more. This ostrich thing only works on one level, doesn't it?! ;) Okay, here goes... YASI YASI GO AWAY!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, chanting GO AWAY from over here in Belgium too. My Dad lives in Mission Beach, and I have lots of friends up there too :( It looks so scary.
ReplyDelete"Yasi, Yasi go away, come again some other...millennium!!" =-\
ReplyDeleteI think it's possible to change the direction of the storm - the power of thought is very inspiring sometimes!
Yasi, Yasi! Go Away!
ReplyDeleteHoping everyone stays safe.
The power of positive thought. Enough to deflect the path of a cyclone?
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the exteded version of the docco "What
the #$*! Do We Know?"
There is some awesome research being done into conscious thought and its ability to effect real things and outcomes even matter. Even subconsious thought and hidden precognitive warnings. Fascinating stuff.
Anyone else starting to feel like a spoilt child getting spanked by mother nature?
I am so worried for the people. I've been to the cyclone tracy exhibit in Darwin and the sound of the wind that was recorded at the airport is terrifying. I'm so anxious for all the young children... and pregnant women - what happens if they go into labour in a storm like that??? Awful. And the old people. I hope all the longrassers have gone to the evacuation centre too. This is just so awful.
ReplyDeleteyeah I'm feeling really uneasy about it all, and very helpless as my thoughts are with people so far away...(well during natural disasters, melbourne seems a long way away)...
ReplyDeleteIt's very scary. I just wish we could do more to help our QLD peeps... they've had more than their fair share of bad weather.
ReplyDeleteI love your way of thinking! I'm on board! YASI YASI calm down!!! Take it easy girl! That's it... nice YASI!
ReplyDeleteIt's really dreadful isn't it...Poor Cindy - her mum is up there. Enough is enough is right..
ReplyDeleteShouting from Portsmouth UK........YASI YASI GO AWAY!
ReplyDeleteHope it turns out to be not as bad as predicted. What's going on with the weather this year?
♥Sue♥
I've been saying it loud and strong over here, along with shooing away the terrible snow storms across the states. What a mess! I am sending "be safe" thoughts to all.
ReplyDeleteSorry, didn't catch this in time to do any chanting and I feel bad now just watching the shredded houses on the news...maybe my little voice joining in could have helped! And I had to giggle at Sally's comment about pregnant women - well, we found out what happens if they go into labour - out pops a little storm baby! Seriously though, I think QLD's had enough now.
