Zpagetti

I know most of you have already discovered Zpagetti yarn and have made things from it. I have really wanted to try it but didnt get a chance until recently. When I was in Sydney I found some and thought I would give it a go. Barbie pink is not often my choice but rather than choosing grey like I really wanted to I thought I would get the pink.

The yarn is really easy to crochet with- you just need one of those big wooden hooks. It had been SO LONG since I had hooked I forgot how to start!! SHAMEFUL!!

It's a little bit wonky- but I like wonky- I didnt follow a pattern and just guessed about making the holes for handles which turned out well (after some obligatory craft rage/ swearing and pulling apart)

I made these great blocks for R a while ago. You can download the beautiful pictures from here they are really sweet. I had a lovely friends husband cut the wooden blocks for me. The other blocks are just some bits of wood I bought in a block set that I stuck pretty paper on and sealed.

And now that I  am a mother of two (still getting use to it!) I was informed immediately on completion that had to make another one.  So Busy got her own smaller version too.

The roll of yarn made two good sized baskets. It was so nice to make something again. I feel like I am back in the groove a bit. maybe.
Have you tried Zpaghetti yarn?

  1. That's one cool basket... I'm going to have to learn to crochet just so I can try this! The blocks are super sweet too. Love it all! :)

  2. PS. Cath, just wondering what you used to seal the paper on the wooden blocks?

  4. Hello! I wanted to thank you for pinning so many crochet pages to pinterest :). There are so many they take up my entire feed. This is a GOOD THING. I've recently decided to up the ante on my crochet and learn some new stitches, your pins have really cemented it AND (I confess) made it slightly easier to find decent crochet tutorials. So thanks!! :)

Ps hope you don't mind my mixed-media approach, pinterest is rubbish for really long comments like this, and I've been following your blog for years, so it makes sense to send you a message like this.
