My blog the war zone.

I am now declaring the chunky chooky asylum seeker debate officially closed. I take full responsibility for starting it and now I am ending it here.
All comments from now on ( Wednesday morning 7:18am) will be removed by me. Thanks for everyone who weighed in. It is cleary an emotive topic and close to the hearts of many of us, in our work and private lives. I actually was trying to avoid a huge thing on here- but I guess that is what happens when you make a cushion!!

The Asylum Seekers Resource Centre love the cushion and we are currently looking at them wholesaling them! Yay!

  3. That's the reason why I never discuss politics - I'm a complete wimp when it comes to conflict!

  4. Good on you for starting the discussion. I was reading post in response to Simone's comment and thinking ... "oh my I just don't have the energy to type" ... so I am glad the discussion is closed and I am impressed by all who have the energy to ecpress their ideas.

  6. I really think all the nay sayers should read the book "London" by Edward Rutherford. Most enlightening when you look at the English capital and it's 'English' formation. Cherrie

  7. Its hard to speak up about topics that are flammable, and sadly this is one fo those flammable topics, and even more so when its something close to your heart because it feels more personal. I applaud you for speaking your truth, it takes courage, as does fleeing a country in serch for asylum xx

  9. Holey moley! I go off line for a couple of days and look at all the fun and games that I miss.
Loving the dress! Loving the fact that you don't shy away from a bit of conflict and face a situation head on and I am also loving that you know when to put a stop to it all.
I love your space Ms Cath! Never a dull moment. XX

  11. Holy heck. Probably best I wasn't around for the Great Debate. I salute you for opening the debate and for your arguments, I salute Simone for articulating her opposing views. I'd be very comfortable snuggling up to your cushion.
