health warning.

Cover your arms, cover your legs, cover the kids arms and legs or pack on the mozzie* spray- I know it is horrible and toxic and revolting stuff but the alternative is this. We are pretty sure Chef has it, waiting for blood test results. Sigh, poor Chef.
* that's mosquito to the rest  of  the world.

  2. Oh God, how horrible! I hope the tests come back clear. My boys line up every morning before we leave the house or even just to go out to play & get sprayed, it's just a part of everyday living here. There are some decent natural creams to use but due to the ferocity of the mozzies here it's tropical strength aeroguard for us at the moment!

  4. I can recommend the mozzie bands too, we put them on Miss 5, around her ankle and she stays bite free, mainly cos she has an allergy to them. Good for overnight and when out at dusk. She does have a citronella smell to her though!

I hope the RR is not confirmed.

  8. Oh dear, not pleasant for him. Not pleasant for you having to nurse him back to good health. And can be so long lasting - have a few friends who probably had this but ended up being diagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Good luck to us all for avoiding the mozzies in the future.

  10. So sorry to hear Cath! Just reading your link about it - it sounds awful! My partner got Dengue Fever when we were in Ecuador, it's horrible to see them suffering! I feel for you!

  13. Living on the Hawkesbury river we are well aware of the mozzies and what they can do. Our mozzie spray is a permanent fixture at the back door. Goodluck.

  17. Crossing my fingers and toes he doesn't have it Cath. I've seen folks go through it and it can be debilitating for some (depending on how strong your immune system is to start with).
    (((hugs))) to you all.

  22. oh no, fingers crossed for a negative result Cath. I've been there and had that many years ago. No fun but I think it does depend on your immune system and postitive attitude and I'm sure you guys have that in spades. Good luck.

  25. Bloody hell. Fingers crossed it's nothing a bit of bed-rest and TLC can't make MOZZ OFF. Haven't you lot had a wee bit to deal with of late? So hope things straighten and narrow post haste.
