winner announced

Chef has decided on a winner... as soon as I saw this entry I knew he would choose it but I said nothing, in the interest of fairness I was on the other side of the room- stitching - when he chose the winner and here it is:
Umatji
Almost a cliche, but still...

in a real pot - proper black tea, warmed pot, hot hot water, turn the pot after a rest to settle the leaves, pour, just as the scones come out of the oven, warm sunshine but cool enough to really want your tea scalding and your scones piping hot. Home made blackberry jam, over melting butter, dollops of raw cream, slurping tea, sticky fingers, oh, another scone, this time homemade apricot jam, ooh, good, slurp, oh but the tea is gone, another cup, still hot - quick quick...

Aaah. collapse somewhere totally sated and consider making a new pot when the need for it overtakes the need to lie down and consider the merits of another scone...

He is a tea purist, you were crossed out completely if you used the word chai or soy. Sorry. But thanks again for entering and there may very well be another Bosco bear giveaway coming soon....

...and the winner is

TODAY IS GIVWEAWAY DAY SO I AM GIVING IT AWAY TODAY!!!!! (even though apparently you are suppose to wait three days...but mines been running for ages ...anyway rules were made to be broken and all that....

A complicated process took place this morning where I tried to add up the entries and who had followed and commented and twittered and what have and what not ...then I had to pick a winner between the number 1- 85 remember as some people had more than one entry so I phoned Chef and said tell me a number between 1-85.............. he chose 65...so I counted along my list until number 65 ( I was trying to avoid writing all the entries down and putting them in a hat- which it turned out would have been so much quicker!!)...

ANYWAY:and the winner is Melanie of the lovely blog M*so email me and send me your address so I can post the sensational package to you... I was so confused if this process was going to be fair ... I still don't know if it was but Mel - you won!

Do you ever do that? Try to take a short cut and it ends up taking twice as long.... I am notoriously impatient at times and this bull -at- a -gate mentality I have- sometimes causes me much grief...

Chef is teaching me to slow down- stop ramma- jamming ( I am one of those people that if, for example, I am trying to fit a square peg in a round hole I will push and ram until it breaks- and I get angry- rather than slowly trying to work out if it will fit....we call this ramma- jamming, or being a ramma-jamma, my friends family came up with this term as it seems to be hereditary)...I have learnt this lesson well with sewing- yes it takes longer to iron the hems etc- but then you are happy because they are straight...yes it takes longer to use pins...but then it sits together properly.....etc etc...

image from...you guess it flickr...

Also, thankyou thankyou thankyou to all those who sent me lovely emails etc about the flood, we are all fine.x

and the winner is........................................................

Thankyou to everyone who entered I hope it made you all have a little thought. I guess what I was trying to get people to think about is that its not about the amount of money but how you spend it.

Almost everyone wanted to reinvest the money and make it grow but the winner cut right to the chase, we all know that if we educate women we save families from poverty , so the winner has to be Penny (HOOOORRAAAAAAAAAAAAYY!!!!!) who said she would lend the money to women for micro loans that they would pay back and the money would be reinvested so other women could also benefit. So simple yet so amazingly good. Love it- have always been a big fan of this.

In fact, so much so, that I quite often donate some money over here. If you are feeling in the mood have a look and get involved its a brilliant idea - and the whole website is very inspiring and once you start you will become addicted... perhaps we could get to $10 millions in donations ..you know...if we all pitch in...over time...

thanks everyone.
Penny- Oleander awaits but she needs to know where she is flying too...
