I was doing an education program with some young people today (Yr 10, about 16 years old) and on hearing about something he didn't like, a young man was heard to say "that's so dial- up".
That's great. I work with in the 18 - 25 year old range and am almost 32, so it's all LOL-tastic and puns-speak... very DIY on the old lingo and I love it!
Ahahaha.... Don't feel old, only feel old if you try to say it too. You know, like on old tv shows when the Dad tries to be friends with his kid's friends "Oh yeah - that's so groovy. Man."
Just hit 35 & now measuring things in decades, including my children!! At least we're all getting old together, those year 10 students will be 35 too, before they know it, & they'll have wasted their 20 years on bloody SMS rather than real relationships & interactions. Love Posie
oh god, i feel old too. i adore your rattles, they're absolutely gorgeous x
ReplyDeleteI love this so much! Oh yeah, bring on the walking frame baby!
ReplyDeleteWow, I knew I was getting on when some 20 somethings referred to me as a lady a few years ago....it was like, so dial-up!
ReplyDeleteImagine the things our kids will be saying oneday.....that's so fossil-fuel!
I must admit to laughing at this Cath!

ReplyDeleteThat's so dial up! I love it! I'm going to start using that as an insult!!!
ReplyDelete'Your cardigan's so ancient - you're so dial-up!'
Oh, that poor rural child, still remembering dial-up. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf he were a city kid he'd have said ADSL1. hehehe
