Glue and Thread?

Having got excited about the endless possibilities of thread sketching I stumbled upon the concept of thread painting. These amazing works of patience and brilliance by Robert Forman are made by gluing individual pieces of thread onto a board. To me this seems way harder than actually stitching them...
the detail is just stunning....

  2. Incredible!
I can't imagine doing such a thing. Give me 15 minutes at it and I would be bleary eyed and covered in glue and bits of thread, stuck with dangling bits on the ends of my fingers and ready for the loony bin.

    It's really wonderful though!
