The lovely folks over at Penguin Publishing have sent me this fantastical book to review and I also have a copy to giveaway to one very lucky reader.
When I first saw this my first thought was: BRILLIANT!!!
The thing I love most about this book is that it is not your usual book of pretty softies, no pastel coloured elephants in here. It is all about creatures from the undead. I love it. I love that it is so unlike anything else around. And I love the MICHAEL JACKSON zombie on the front cover! Just SO good!
The instructions are really easy to follow and it has a great list of stitches you will need at the beginning of the book. All of the toys are designed to be stitched by hand so you don't need a sewing machine to make anything. Old buttons, beads and broken knitting needles are used cleverly throughout the book and because of this nothing you make is safe for small children -absolutely not one for kids.
However, I think it is perfect for older children , in terms of making and receiving and teenagers would love the ghoul factor. I showed it to a couple of girls who are 15 and 17 and they thought it was "COOL"
I think it is a great book for beginners and because all the toys are made by hand a great rainy afternoon activity, I reckon you could make one of these zombies in under an hour, they are quite small... imagine a whole stack of them as a mobile! Or for Halloween presents...
It is in the shops now, but I have one copy to giveaway.
To enter :
1.It would be awfully nice if you could follow my blog
2. Please leave a comment below telling me what gives you the creeps...

What a great book. Umm now what gives me the creeps, I hate the look of dead birds because its so obvious that they aren't just sleeping. Zombie birds, I shudder the thought but that would really creep me out. And yes I did watch the Hitchcock movie "birds" when I was young and yes it did have an affect on me. lol.
