So huge in fact we decided the next party won't be for another 5 years. ( the neighbours will appreciate this I am sure) It was great. It started at 2 in the arvo- so the littles could come - so I had to seriously pace myself.... I did well having been seriously out of training for a few years. I knew I would be up at 6am on duty Sunday morning. Lets just say ABC Kids got a work out on Sunday.
I did a speech at the party and had all of Chef's mates who couldn't attend answer the question "the thing I love most about Chef is..." it was great. Some responses made me cry, some laugh, Chef loved it. Then at the end of the speech for the toast I gave out some beer I had made with Chefs face on the label! From here. Seriously good stuff. Nice beer as well not just a good label. It was great. Chef loved it and it is now a collectors item.
I am in trouble with a lot of my friends wives though. The canoe was a massive hit, the name an even bigger hit, with several people pointing out that it was bad luck to Chef if he ever thought about changing the name of a vessel... but the wives were worried, several said to me "how am I going to top that!?! "
Chef says thanks to all for lovely birthday wishes.
Howgoodismywife had her maiden voyage yesterday and she glides through the water like a dream.
I would like to say that her first voyage went off without a hitch. I would like to say Busy didn't scream like a banshee and 'ruin'/ make memorable the moment when she discovered she had to wear a life jacket ( or life bucket as she called it) and I had to bribe her to get her in the boat with the "life bucket' on. Once in she loved it. Wanted to have a turn on the paddles, got annoyed that we wouldn't let go of them and let her do it by herself.
The following conversation took place soon after:
She asked "Are their sharks in here?"
Chef replied "No the crocodiles ate them"
Busy and Uncle Mark looked slightly alarmed.
Busy said " I just saw a fin"
When we got home a guest had arrived on our front deck. Clearly Busy is not afraid of snakes.

That party sounds fantastic. So glad that howgoodismywife glided through the water. So glad that you needed to give ABC kids a workout the next day - sign of good times the night before. YAY!
