Cover your arms, cover your legs, cover the kids arms and legs or pack on the mozzie* spray- I know it is horrible and toxic and revolting stuff but the alternative is this. We are pretty sure Chef has it, waiting for blood test results. Sigh, poor Chef.
* that's mosquito to the rest of the world.
Oh bugger, Cath. I hope that he doesn't have it.
ReplyDeleteOh God, how horrible! I hope the tests come back clear. My boys line up every morning before we leave the house or even just to go out to play & get sprayed, it's just a part of everyday living here. There are some decent natural creams to use but due to the ferocity of the mozzies here it's tropical strength aeroguard for us at the moment!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear. Hope it's just a normal flu that passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteI can recommend the mozzie bands too, we put them on Miss 5, around her ankle and she stays bite free, mainly cos she has an allergy to them. Good for overnight and when out at dusk. She does have a citronella smell to her though!
ReplyDeleteI hope the RR is not confirmed.
Cath that sucks :( thinking of you guys xxx
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness Cath!!
ReplyDeletei hope he is all good soon.
two weeks before school started Amelie got bitten & infected & turned into horrible boils & welt like thing on her legs & face. it was the weirdest thing ever, so glad it got treated.
hugs ♥
oh no....
ReplyDeletehow awful. did you know lavendar dabbed on is a great mozzie repelent? a good way to avoid the toxic and the terrible alternative.

Oh dear, not pleasant for him. Not pleasant for you having to nurse him back to good health. And can be so long lasting - have a few friends who probably had this but ended up being diagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to us all for avoiding the mozzies in the future.
Oh no, Cath! Commiserations to Chef - not good at all. Hoping it turns out not to be RR. Kx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear Cath! Just reading your link about it - it sounds awful! My partner got Dengue Fever when we were in Ecuador, it's horrible to see them suffering! I feel for you!
ReplyDeleteSigned, a fellow mozzie-hater.
oh dear - hope all gets better soon xx
ReplyDeleteOh no, Cath! I hope he's okay. x
ReplyDeleteLiving on the Hawkesbury river we are well aware of the mozzies and what they can do. Our mozzie spray is a permanent fixture at the back door. Goodluck.
ReplyDeletefingers and toes crossed that he doesn't! horrible stuff!
ReplyDeletexo
Oh bugger. I hope it's not. My Dad had it when we were kids. It was miserable, and such a strain on my mum :(
ReplyDeleteoh, poor Chef - hope he's okay...
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers and toes he doesn't have it Cath. I've seen folks go through it and it can be debilitating for some (depending on how strong your immune system is to start with).
ReplyDelete(((hugs))) to you all.
x
oh Cath, I was just tested a few weeks ago, came back negative and I hope the Chef's does too. It's very crap x
ReplyDeleteOh boo, not good Cath. Guess the Chef still feels crappy whether it is or isn't RR. Hope he feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteEeeeeeuuuuuwww!!!!
ReplyDeleteGet better soon Chef!
I hope it isn't that poor chef, and I hope it buggers off whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteoh no, fingers crossed for a negative result Cath. I've been there and had that many years ago. No fun but I think it does depend on your immune system and postitive attitude and I'm sure you guys have that in spades. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor chef! Sending lots of healthy thoughts your way!
ReplyDeleteOH NOOOOOOOO!! what a bugger! xx
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I didn't know that was around any more! I hope he gets better soon, poor little guy.
ReplyDeleteBloody hell. Fingers crossed it's nothing a bit of bed-rest and TLC can't make MOZZ OFF. Haven't you lot had a wee bit to deal with of late? So hope things straighten and narrow post haste.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Good luck with the blood test results - I hope they bring you good news. Sending healing thoughts your way.
