We are going to Thailand tomorrow.
For 3 weeks.
We are going to lay on beaches, and get massages and look after elephants in a welfare park. We are going to eat spicy food and not wash up for three weeks. And not vacuum.
We are going to go shopping in busy markets and swim in our private pool.
We are going to go in rickety old boats and we are going to take hundreds of photos. We are going to go to beautiful islands and swim in clear blue water. We are going to experience a new culture and learn lots of new words. We are going to feel culture shock. We are going to have our senses aroused and assaulted. We are going to do a cooking course (not me) and maybe even learn some local craft. (me)
We are going to hang out as 3. No one else just us. We are not going to be rushed with getting to work and preschool. We are going to have fun and learn.
We are very excited.
After the last month we need this.
See you on the other side.
(yes we know about the awful floods but have spoken to those in the know)

I think I haven't commented here before, but have been reading your blog for some time already. Just wanted to say that enjoy your holiday, you really deserve it after everything you've gone through lately!

Cath, I have taken a break from blogland and am only now reading your story. I am so sorry to hear about your dear friends, how tragic and just terrible, no words really. I hope you enjoy your break with your family. We too just had a little break in the sunshine, and spending every minute with my little family, not worrying about life and routine, was sooooo good for the soul.
