My Creative Space

My Creative Space is all about Busy this week. I think the behaviour issues we have had seem to have come about at the same time as I have been really busy with wholesale orders and Chef has started working an extra shift a week. Coincidence? I think not. So I devoted some extra special intensive time with her the other day playing for a good couple of hours... I generally find playing with the toy ponies etc completely painful I am not afraid to admit- but I did it anyway , my undivided attention. I know I need to do it more...
Gwam-ma ( my mum) arrives on Saturday from the big smoke, bags heavily laden with gifts no doubt ,  so we thought we had better paint her a picture...intense concentration required:

I really love this picture of her....
Painting was great; she was happy and I was happy snapping pictures of her.
Now, get some sustenance and head over to Kirstys to have a sticky beak at all the creative spaces...

  8. Cath, I'm the same with the intensive one-on-one time... it's not always easy, but they love it so much. I try and do something special with her every day, if I can, the rest of the time we mosey on through the day doing our own stuff, but side by side.

On a different subject - I am loving the photos you are posting lately - all so good. You're such a talent.

  12. Such a beautiful little girl! She must get her creative focus from her Mum! Little Guy and I have been painting more this week, it seems to be the first thing he wants to do when he wakes up from his nap.

  14. Gorgeous photograph, gorgeous wee girl. Totally with you on the difficulty of pony play. I spent two hours doing puzzles this afternoon...just a little too long I think! But the small person loved it and as you say, that's what we do it for! Hope you enjoy your visit from Gwam-ma

  19. Yay for gwam-ma's...!! Adore the shots of Busy, I had my share of thomas the tank engine when they boys were little, now that was painful, so I hear ya on the ponies!

Good on you for the 1:1 time, had some myself this morning on the way to the principals office with Rah...sighs...teenage boys, how hard is it to get to class, I long for the days of being able to sit and paint with him :)

Hope you have an awesome time with your Mum :)

  21. I was speaking to a 'professional' the other day and she was saying that it is good to have a specific amount of time at the same time each day where you do whatever the child wants for 15-30mins - undivided attention and that is really helpful. Ponies I can imagine sound painful that we have so far avoided
