Friday : rage and love

What a mixed bag this week was. The ups and downs of parenting , running a business working part time and trying to be A Good Wife.
  • It will be funny on Sunday as Busy made Chef a Father's Day present that she is so going to insist he wear all day Sunday and that will make me laugh!
  • I was annoyed to see some mature women flirting with a barrista, to the point where he was so beetroot red and embarrassed I get annoyed with them. Can't they see that a) they are making fools of themselves and b) he doesn't like it, it is mean to make someone that embarrassed. Then, these same women when I asked for a weak coffee made a point of saying how strong they wanted theres' in an attempt to belittle me? And were sniggerly snidely at my order. Why do that?
sometimes I miss sugar, lucky it doesn't come like this anywhere 'round here.

  • It was rude that people were harrumphing and sighing and making noises in the queue behind me at the Post Office when I was mailing a big pile of orders. It wasn't during lunch time or anything but honestly you should have heard the noises of annoyance! It IS a post office and I was posting things!
  • I got a tick on the neck, got me twice the little mongrel of a thing. itch itch itch all week.
  • Their is always washing. Always. Every time I look. It will never end.
  • It is annoying that some people when they are told by preschool that there child has nits don't do anything about it so they spread.
  • It is exciting that next week that my cushions are going to be in the Newspaper!! these two- Canberra and New Orleans- next Saturday! ( don't worry i will be sure to remind you!)

  • It is hard when people get annoyed because I don't know how things that I have no business in knowing work. For example I parked in the wrong place when I was doing some work at a high school and the gate was locked. the admin woman was so rude to me- there was no sign telling me not to park there, she got so annoyed with me??? How am I suppose to know they lock the gate. The caretaker was "in the middle of a cup of tea" and everything when he had to come and unlock the gate for me.
  • It is exciting that lovely Master S who made my i-phone app. told me it has had 4300 downloads. WOWEEEEE!!!
  • It is also mind blowing to me that this week I hit 800 sales on Etsy!!
  • It was annoying that I felt blackmailed by a customer on Etsy because of the feedback system.
All in all a mixed bag. How has your week been? Hope all your Mr's have a great Fathers Day on Sunday and they get spoilt rotten!

Not to late to enter the giveaway- scroll down- I AM EXTENDING THE DEADLINE : I will notify the winners by email on Sunday night!

  1. Yep ... that does sound like a mixed bag.

The flirting with the barista thing ticks me off. That's sexual harrassment and no one should have to endure that in a workplace - not even from customers. If it had been a young woman receiving unwanted attention from a middle aged man those very same women would no doubt have been outraged at the sleeze. Humpf. I too am annoyed.

And so what if you want your coffee weak? What's the fricken issue? I'm suprised that didn't rip open their shirts to show you the hairs on their chests!!!
(aside & note to self... must get tweezers to remove the one wierdo hair growing out of side of nipple that has now come to my attention breastfeeding)

And what the frick are you suppose to do at a post office? You weren't farting too were you? If you were then perhaps annoying sounds would be justified.

Washing. More humpf. Not one load of washing was done while I was in hospital. Not one. But it actually made me feel really good because the mister had been struggling to find time to do it all. If he'd been perfect then I would have felt the pressure to step up to the plate... this way I can let it go a couple of days too. YAY! Regretably the washing won't grow legs and put itself in the machine.

Hope you enjoy your weekend. Thanks for the heads up about father's day... must go get a case of beer. That will make the man happy as we head into footy finals.

  4. My husband will be receiving not one, but two garden gnomes this sunday. He is definetly not a gardner. But my kids thought he would love them, so they bought them at the school fete. It will be very funny!
Ps don't reply because this will give the great surprise away!

  5. Hmpf to all those people at the Post Office. I get it a bit as I like to smile and make pleasant and friendly conversations as I go about my life, which causes many people in queues to SIGH and SIGH and SIGH.

I cannot believe you've clocked 800 sales on etsy, congratulations babes - NICE WORK CRAFTY QUEEN!

  7. It's been a tough week. I've been at home alone with my baby for the first time while my husband's been at an interstate conference. We've had some lovely times and excruciating ones, including a couple of really bad nights, so I'm glad my love came home today and we'll enjoy spending Father's Day as a family.

I hope next week is sunnier for you!

Congratulations on 800 Etsy sales. We love our map cushions and wish we could afford more! Five-month-old Auden is transfixed by them, so it seems he loves maps as much as his dad does.

  8. Sounds like a bit of a crap week cath. Hope this coming one is full of great people. Go and have a pistachio pastry from the swiss patisserie, walk past the cool creek and cross the road and go down to the lavendar bridge. Eat it there and throw rocks in the water.
I have done it a a thousand times -even on the days I couldn't afford the pastry.

  9. OMG what a week! I'd be a blithering mess after all that! I think people have just become ruder and ruder. I work in retail and I see it firsthand - it's really bad. I just keep reminding myself that it's more to do with their problems than with me (except for when I stuff up of course!).
I'm sorry that you've had to bear the brunt of the venting of so many negative / self involved / narcissistic types, Cath. For some reason, I'm most upset about someone blackmailing you on Etsy. I'm constantly amazed at the gall of people.
Hope next week is smooth sailing for you :) Kx

  12. You know what annoys me at the post office? The people holding up the line who are NOT posting stuff!

They need to have a dedicated line just for people sending parcels in the age of internet shopping!

  13. Yuk. Rude customer service just leaves you feeling do gross. I was at the post office the other day and the man behind the counter practically yelled across the room asking me not to let my kids touch the coloring books. They had one each in their hands that they were looking through - because we were buying them!! So rude! Glad you've had lots of good things happen too - a newspaper in New Orleans - goodness.

  14. How dare you post things at the post office? What are you thinking? It is like buying a trolley full of groceries at the supermarket. Darn rude (apparently). People need to take a look at themselves.

I've had the feedback crap on ebay but etsy is my lovely place where everyone plays fair. Sorry to hear that someone there is an a$@&hole.

Congrats on the sales figures and enjoy the weekend.

  15. Yes, I had a melt down this week from all the a-holes that are out there, I think it's getting worse and worse. At least you had some fantastically great things going on to keep you going! Have a great fart hers day with your man and busy.

  18. Oh, I hope the end to your week helped balance out some of the negative stuff (and did Chef wear his present all day??).

I hate it when I realise that sometimes I'm the rude one(I hope that doesn't happen very often)... but - 800! wow!

  19. WELL!

The women flirting with the young man thing - can you IMAGINE the reaction those same women would have if a few old guys were leering & making suggestive comments at a young woman serving them...? Why the double standards? So with you on that huff.

As for why they & people in general make a sport out of offending & belittling others, isn't it obvious? It makes them feel better about themselves. If that is the sort of thing they have to do to feel good, then you should really pity them for how sad their lives must be.

Email & tell me what you ended up doing with that customer, I'm so curious now!
