I realised a few things during this time. I realised (again) Busy is growing up and I don't want to miss any of it -as she may very well be an only child... and even if she turns out not to be I still don't want to miss out, but the other thing I realised is that I have been so conscious of making sure I spend time with her... I realised maybe I have been neglecting someone else who lives here, who I love so very much. I realised that making sure I keep my blog up to date and comment on other peoples has become way to important to me, I need to step back a little I think, I will still be here, and I will still visit but I may not reply to all the comments anymore. I realised that the computer is taking time away from my family and I don't want Busy to grow up with memories of me typing away on the computer all the time. I know a certain someone enjoyed his wife hobbie-less and stress free. I want to keep a bit of that holiday-ness going.
Glad you had some good family time, it is so important to take some time out to be present in what is happening around you right now. I shall miss your regular comments but, I will also be happy to know that you are basking in the little things with your partner and child (along with hanging the laundry).

I think when you blog and it becomes 'considerable' in number of followers, there is a pressure to do these things; HOWEVER, in 10 years time, will that even matter?
You simply will be unable to turn back the clock with Busy, and in the blink of an eye, she will be off discovering this big wide world.
I am going to take a leaf out of your book, and stress less about the blog stuff. and be in the moment with the kids. (as i am writing this my wee one sleeps! lol).

As far as that blog all-encompassing thing goes, I reckon it's a process that you just have to go through. Then you get that blindingly clear moment of insight and voila! suddenly there is balance. You are hereby banned from comment answering!

Welcome home! It's so nice to have family time and I totally understand about trying to balance things out. There is only so much blogging you can do in a day. I never respond to comments on my blog unless I am asked direct questions (sorry everyone!) but I always try to visit whoever visits me. Whatever works for you! xo m.

I think Tania has nailed it. I've never met a blogger yet who hasn't gone through the balancing process. Once you do though it does all seem to fall into place, for the most part anyway.
