My Place and Yours - where I sleep - better late than never right Vic?

This is where I sleep. With Chef beside me or not really beside me as the bed is so huge. I like the bed to be made. I will make it 2 seconds before going to bed if needed.  The doona needs to be the right way around the pillows need to be straight and the curtain needs to be closed without one crack of light being able to shine though in the morning. The bed sometimes looks like this. I like it to look like this.
The chook was from a swap I did. He is handsome don't you think? I made the log from my all time favourite fabric. We have a king size bed because we are both long.
See the wall hanging? I nearly died getting it. True.
I love our bed. I love our latex mattress and latex pillows. we had a crap bed for years. Two years ago we bought this one and now I sleep like a baby.
I am playing My place and Yours at Vics place.  You can play too.
Or you can enter the Hop Skip Jump  book giveaway ( scroll down) or both.

My Place and Yours: Kitchen Love

This weeks theme for My Place and Yours over at Vic's, but hosted by Nic and Tracey is kitchen love - which couldn't be more timely in our little house...

This is a picture of our old kitchen bench. ( this is NOT the kitchen love bit at all...) It wobbled terribly- it says a lot about his skill that Chef was able to produce meals of such outstanding quality on this rickety old thing. And see the shelves on the left with all the stuff on the condiments, oils, etc on them. Gone. The shelves are gone. Hooray!!!!

Replaced by this gorgeous 2.3metre piece of red mahogony with big deep nice drawers ( haven't finished that bit yet and the strips of raw wood showing on the back will be covered -we are still in discussions about timber vs metal handles...) I am feeling the love!

A good friend of mine described it as sexy. It is! Soon, as in next year, when we have saved some more money we will do the other side of the kitchen in the same wood or maybe in stainless steel and get rid of the curtains we hate too- and we will have cupboard doors! hooray!!!
